1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how FTF Otelcilik ve Turizm Sanayi Ticaret Limited Şirketi, operating as Kuzguncuk View Hotel ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit www.kuzguncukview.com, contact us, or book a stay with us.

As a Turkish company, we are primarily governed by Turkey's Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data ("KVKK"). Because many of our guests visit from the EU/EEA and UK, we also apply the relevant principles of the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") as a matter of good practice.

2. What we do NOT collect

• No user accounts or passwords for the marketing website — you never need to register to browse or request a booking.
• No credit card or payment details are stored on our own servers — card and prepayment transactions are processed directly by our booking engine provider or by the OTA (Booking.com, Airbnb, etc.) you booked through.
• No contact lists, address books, or precise GPS location are ever accessed.
• No data is sold to third parties, ever.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Booking and enquiry data

When you request a reservation — through our online booking widget, the WhatsApp/phone contact links on our site, by phone, or through a third-party platform (Booking.com, Airbnb, TripAdvisor, Trip.com, Otelz, etc.) — we (or our booking engine provider on our behalf) collect the information needed to fulfil your stay: full name, email address, phone number, arrival/departure dates, number of guests, room preference, and any message or special request you include. If you pay a prepayment, basic payment confirmation details (amount, date, last 4 digits of card where applicable) are recorded; full card numbers are handled solely by our payment/booking provider.

3.2 Identity/passport data at check-in

Turkish law requires all accommodation providers to register the identity details of every guest (Turkish citizens and foreign nationals alike) with the relevant authorities. If you check in through our self-check-in / online guest portal, we or our front-desk team may collect a copy or photo of your identity document or passport for this legal registration purpose only. This data is not used for marketing and is retained only as long as required by Turkish law.

3.3 Data collected automatically

Like most websites, our site automatically records some technical data through analytics and security tools: IP address, approximate country/city-level location, browser and device type, pages visited, referring website, and session duration. See the Cookies section below for the specific tools we use.

3.4 Communications

If you email, call, or message us on WhatsApp, we keep a record of that conversation to respond to you and to have a reference in case of any dispute about your booking.

4. Cookies and tracking technologies

Our site uses cookies and similar technologies from the following tools:

You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings; doing so will not prevent you from browsing the site, but may affect the booking widget's ability to remember your search. We do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, and we do not use cookies for cross-site advertising retargeting beyond standard Google Ads conversion measurement.

5. How we use your information

• To process and confirm your reservation, collect any prepayment, and communicate with you before, during and after your stay.
• To comply with Turkish legal obligations, including guest identity registration.
• To respond to enquiries sent by email, phone or WhatsApp.
• To understand how our website is used and to improve its content and performance.
• To measure the performance of our own advertising (Google Ads) so we know which campaigns are worth continuing.

We do not use any AI system that trains on your personal data. Our website uses simple analytics-referrer detection (not a chatbot) to note when a visit came from an AI answer engine such as ChatGPT or Perplexity — this only reads the referring domain, not any personal data about you.

We never sell personal data, and we do not share it with any other third party for their own marketing purposes.

7. Legal basis for processing

Under KVKK Article 5 and (for EU/UK visitors) GDPR Article 6, we rely on: performance of the accommodation contract with you (processing your booking), compliance with a legal obligation (guest identity registration, tax/accounting records), and our legitimate interest in operating and improving our website and measuring our advertising, balanced against your rights.

8. How long we keep your data

• Booking and guest identity records: retained for the period required by Turkish commercial, tax and hospitality-registration law (generally several years after your stay).
• Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: deleted within 12 months.
• Analytics data: Google Analytics 4 aggregates are retained up to 14 months; Yandex Metrica session data per Yandex's own retention settings.
• Server access logs: retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting purposes.

9. Your rights

Under KVKK Article 11, you can ask us: whether we process your personal data; for information about that processing; the purpose and whether it is used accordingly; who we transfer it to at home or abroad; to have incomplete or inaccurate data corrected; to have it deleted or destroyed where the legal grounds no longer apply; and to object to a result produced solely by automated analysis that is to your detriment.

If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, GDPR additionally gives you the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability, plus the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. International data transfers

We are based in Türkiye. Some of our service providers (Google, Yandex, and our booking engine provider) may process data on servers located outside Türkiye, including in the EU/EEA and the United States, as part of their standard global infrastructure. Where required, these providers rely on their own recognised safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.

11. Children

Our website and booking services are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children browsing independently; where children stay with a parent or guardian as part of a family booking, their details are provided and managed by the adult making the reservation.

12. Security

Our website is served over HTTPS. We do not store payment card numbers on our own systems. Access to guest booking and identity data is limited to staff who need it to operate the hotel. If we ever become aware of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify affected guests and the relevant authority as required by law.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always show the most recent revision. We encourage you to review it periodically.
